How to Enable Bitcoin Payments on Cloudbeds via Tiankii?

Cloudbeds is an all-in-one hospitality management platform that helps hotels, hostels, and vacation rentals manage reservations, guest communications, payments, and channel distribution from a single dashboard. It's known for its ease of use and global reach.

Connect Tiankii to your Cloudbeds property management system (PMS) to accept Bitcoin and Lightning Network payments with zero transaction fees. This integration allows you to receive P2P payments from guests worldwide, efficiently and securely.

The setup process is divided into three main parts:
  1. Cloudbeds Setup: Preparing your Cloudbeds account for the integration.
  2. Tiankii Merchant Dashboard Setup: Enabling and configuring the Cloudbeds connector.
  3. Connect Tiankii to the Cloudbeds Booking Engine: Inserting the necessary scripts to finalize the connection.

How to sign up for Tiankii?

  1. Open your web browser and go to https://pay.tiankii.com/ 

  2. If you already have an account, log in with your credentials

  3. If you are a new merchant, click "Create an account" and follow the steps to register


How to connect Tiankii with Cloudbeds for the first time?

Let's start with the configuration.

Cloudbeds Setup

Before activating the connector in tiankii, you need to prepare your property in Cloudbeds.

Adjust Deposit and Confirmation Policies

These steps ensure that reservations require full payment to be automatically confirmed.
  1. Log in to your Cloudbeds dashboard https://signin.cloudbeds.com    


  1. Go to Settings, select the Property menu, and click on the Policies tab.
  2. Within Policies, navigate to the Deposit sub-tab
    1. Under the Percentage option, set the value to "100%" for the question, "What deposit (%) on the total do you require to secure a reservation?"
  1. Now, select the Confirmation Pending sub-tab.
    1. For the question, "What status should direct reservations have by default?", select Confirmation Pending
    2. Enable the "Auto change status to Confirmed when a payment is added" option

Configure Payment Options

First, you will add "Bitcoin" for internal payment tracking. Then, you will configure the Booking Engine to use "Bank Transfer" as the trigger for the Tiankii 3rd-party gateway.
  1. From the main Cloudbeds menu, navigate to Payments
  2. Add "Bitcoin" as a Custom Method:
    1. Select the Additional and Custom Payment Methods tab.
    2. Add a new payment method and name it exactly "Bitcoin".
  1. Configure Booking Engine Payments:
    1. Disable Credit Card: Select the Credit Card tab. Uncheck the box for "Booking Engine" to disable the default credit card form.

  1. Enable Bank Transfer: Select the Bank Transfer tab. This will be used to launch the 3rd-party payment gateway.
    1. Toggle the switch to Activate the method.
    2. In the "Where do you want to allow this payment type?" section, check the box for "Booking Engine".

  1. Disable PayPal: Select the PayPal tab. Toggle the switch to Deactivate this option.

Generate API Credencial

You will need an API key for tiankii to communicate securely with Cloudbeds.
  1. Go to Settings and select Marketplace.
  2. Within Marketplace, click on the API Credentials tab.
  3. Click the +NEW CREDENTIALS button.
  4. Fill in the required information to create a new Client ID and Client Secret.
  5. Once the new credential row is created, locate the API Key column for that entry.
  6. Click the "Create" button (or a similar icon) to generate a new API key.
  7. A pop-up window will appear. Select all the necessary permissions and options that allow the key to manage bookings and payments.
  8. Once generated, Copy the new API Key. You will need this for the Tiankii setup.

Now, let's begin the setup from your Tiankii dashboard

Access and Enable the Cloudbeds Connector

  1. Log in to your Tiankii Merchant Dashboard.

  1. In the left-side menu, click on Payment Tools

  1. From the options that appear, select Connectors.
  1. You will see the "eCommerce Connectors" screen. Find Cloudbeds and click the Connect button.

  1. Enter the following information in the corresponding fields:
    1. Property ID: Your property identifier from Cloudbeds.
    2. Payment Terminal (Select App): Select the terminal you wish to use.
    3. API Key: Paste the key you generated in the previous step from Cloudbeds.
  1. Click Continue

Connect Tiankii to the Cloudbeds Booking Engine

The final step is to add the tiankii scripts to your Cloudbeds booking engine so the payment method is visible to your guests.

Insert Scripts into the Booking Engine

  1. Back in your Tiankii Dashboard, after connecting your property, you will see an Additional Scripts section. Copy the provided CSS and JavaScript scripts.
  1. In your Cloudbeds dashboard, go to Settings > Booking Engine and select the Customize tab.
  2. Scroll down until you find the script sections:
    1. Paste the CSS script into the Custom Meta Tags field.
    2. Paste the JavaScript script into the JavaScript field.
  1. Save the changes.

How to disconnect the apps?

To disconnect the integration, you must perform actions in both Tiankii and Cloudbeds to ensure all components are properly removed.

Step 1: Disconnect from Tiankii
  1. Log in to your Tiankii Merchant Dashboard.
  2. In the left-side menu, click on Payment Tools and select Connectors.
  3. On the "eCommerce Connectors" screen, find the Cloudbeds connector (it may show a "Modify" button) and click it to see your configured properties.
  4. Find the property (e.g., "Property 1") you wish to disconnect and click the trash icon to remove it.
  5. Once deleted, the connection for that property is removed from Tiankii.
